Tom Helbig's law practice focuses on mediation and arbitration work. He was previously appointed to the position of Mediation Master by the Court of Common Pleas of Lackawanna County. Since the inception of the Lackawanna County Mediation Program, he has successfully mediated hundreds of civil cases for the Court. Tom has also served as Interim Discovery Master and as a Court appointed Special Trial Master in Lackawanna County. He has conducted more than one thousand (1000) mediations and arbitrations in third party and first party civil cases involving professional negligence, personal injury-motor vehicle, product liability, and premises liability, insurance, bad faith, employment law, and contract claims. Tom is also a certified mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, a member of the PBA Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee, and a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators. Most notably, he was recently inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN), a professional association whose membership consists of peer review selected ADR professionals distinguished by their experience in the field of civil conflict resolution.
